Mission Statement
In 2015 I began a dance program at University Neighborhood High School, a Title-1 public School in the Lower East Side. My mission as a dance educator is to have my students continue to connect with and learn through the body that they navigate the world in. Arts education is vital to a well rounded education and promotes lifelong learning, creativity, and open-mindedness which will ultimately help children make positive contributions to society. Dance appeals to multiple intelligences, and helps students develop their meta-cognition and self awareness. I strive to make my class room a positive and productive environment where students feel comfortable thinking critically, expressing themselves, and taking risks.
